Plants
The Auburn Azaleas are a growing series of plants. The first five plants to be offered for sale to the public have been in cultivation for over 30 years. If gardeners support the continued production of these plants, The Arboretum will be able to continue releasing selections like the ones shown below.
Buyer be aware, this is not instant landscaping! In future years we will be able to offer larger plants that will make a more immediate impact. One aspect of these plants that makes them special in the garden is the time it takes to grow them to their full potential. It can take a few years to get a plant established enough to achieve its full growth rate, and then a few more to become a mojor focal point in the landscape.
Early and Peak Bloomers
The peak of the azalea bloom varies year to year depending on your location and the weather. Warmer weather makes them open earlier. In Auburn Alabama the peak for most deciduous azaleas is early April. Auburn Azaleas can extend that peak for 2-3 weeks.
Mid and Late Season Bloomers
With a variety of these azaleas in the landscape, you can have flowering shrubs from May till September.
