Giving local school children an opportunity to be immersed in the diversity of nature

Keeping our gates open from sun up to sun down 365 days a year

Seedling azaleas grown at the Corley cabin in Loachapoka,  is one of the sources of the Auburn Azaleas.

Introducing all kinds of folks to Alabama's surprising native plants

 

Aubie is getting to know the carnivorous pitcher plant, Sarracenia rubra, at the Sustainability Picnic.

Facilitating research on site and around the world

 

Leaf samples from the top of the Arboretum's canopy are tested here, but samples of our plants have been shipped to Asia, Europe and South America.

Providing habitat for Auburn's urban wildlife

Teaching children about the value of clean water

 

These students are learning about turtles, Alabama has more than any other state.

Teaching gardeners and landscapers to make stormwater an asset and keep our streams healthy

 

Raingarden research and installations at the Arboretum combine efforts of landscape architects, horticulturalists, and biosystem engineers.

Enabling conservation beyond our borders

 

A partnership called the Alabama Plant Conservation Alliance combines efforts of the Arboretum with The Nature Conservancy, and the Atlanta Botanical Gardens in projects like this out planting of endangered Alabama Pitcher Plants, Sarracenia alabamensis .

Offering a place to find peace, and see the seasons change
